A comprehensive Level 1 COVID-19 protocol plan was drafted before commencement of the 2020 event. These protocols applied to both staff and guests and were thoroughly adhered to during the event. The protocol included the following:

 

- Recorded temperatures of staff and guests every morning and at every evening function

- Sanitisers on all golf carts and at every entrance as well as throughout the venue

- Transfer vehicles were sanitised throughout the day

- Masks were distributed free of charge upon arrival to all guests and were available at reception throughout the event

- Numerous appeals were made throughout the event to participants to kindly adhere to Level 1 protocols

- A COVID-19 compliance officer was present on-site

- A Section 6 (3) certificate was issued by the Drakenstein Municipality which granted permission to host the event, which had under 180 attendees and was held as an outdoor event

- Doors were open throughout the evening functions to allow adequate ventilation with seating capacity at 50% of the room capacity

All measures were put in place in order to comply with government’s stipulated Level 1 COVID-19 protocols. Tournament organisers cannot be held liable for what individuals say and do at all times throughout the weekend of the event.
