IN THE NAME OF CHARITY
While a great deal of fun is had, old rivalries renewed and new business connections made at the BCX Supersport Shootout, charity has, since the inception of the event 16 years ago, been at its core. The recipients may have changed over the years, but the event has proudly raised in excess of R25.5 million for worthy charities.
The Saturday night auction is always a highlight. MultiChoice got proceedings off to a good start with a pledge of R500 000 to the Cyril Ramaphosa Foundation. Iain Banner took over the auctioneering duties and did a fabulous job of selling some wonderful, “money-can’t-buy items” raising a further R696 000. Each individual player was also able to make their own private pledge in order to help swell the coffers to a grand total of R1 196 000 raised in 2019. Recipients over the years include The Gozololo Centre for Needy Children, Qhubeka, MAD Charity, the SAB Caddies Trust and the Legend African Foundation.
LIV Villages, a registered NPO, collected and distributed the funds raised for charity during the 2019 BCX SuperSport Shootout.
RAISING A GLASS TO CHARITY
Every year, for the past 13 years, Ken Forrester Vineyards makes a special contribution to the auction. 2019 is no different! The winning bidder is entitled to one barrel (300 bottles) of BCX SuperSport Shootout Special Reserve - the very finest red blend selection from the cellar at Ken Forrester Vineyards!
A soft, rich red wine. A harmonious blend of Mourvèdre (earthy) with a splash of Grenache (fruity) and a dash of Syrah (spicy); blended by Ken to create this incredible, unique wine.

It's rare to have 6 Springbok Rugby Captains on one stage. Which is precisely why some of the lucky Shootout guests made the most of the opportunity to have a photo taken with them, raising even more funds for our charities.
A very special thank you to Francois Pienaar, Jean de Villiers, Naas Botha, Gary Teichmann, Victor Matfield and John Smit seen here with Nqaba Ndiweni.
Unrivalled Val de Vie hospitality and Ken Forrester Vineyards wine go hand in hand.
